This first time contestant campaigned from Baramati, a constituency where her father had reined supreme, winning no less than five times since 1984. Clearly, the pressure was on for her to score a hit. And the recent elections were nothing more than a cake walk for her.Despite her background, Supriya has stepped out from behind her father’s shadow; she argues politics is essentially about social & developmental issues. Coming across as new generation political leader, she points out that education; potable water & basic health care are need of the hour.
