With the support of The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS), the INTUC affiliated largest trade union of the tea garden labourers in the Brahmaputra Valley, Ms. Ranee’s victory was guaranteed.Ranee Harah’s candidature was delayed, due to certain conflicts within the party. Involved in social and welfare activities since student days, she has organized several State and National level programmes for mobilization of youth. Her special interests include welfare of women, and social work.
